Atlas
Peak is a difficult appellation to grow cabernet sauvignon
in. An inhospitable landscape, late bud-break, early cool
fall temperature swings accentuated by the mountain ridges
will give any winemaker and grower fits of frustration. The
2003 vintage only amplified these challenges. Ripe and plump
on the nose, it is broad and complex, revealing oriental
spices, cocoa, coffee, and black fruit. Ripe fruit and very
good acidity, along with great depth and definition define
this wine.
